If you've been following our family's building adventure at all this year, you may be aware that we are FINALLY almost done with what I've christened "The Little House in the Woods". (Yes. I am aware of the twee-ness. I own it.)
This house has come about after many sleepless nights of conversations like "Who ARE we? Where do we BELONG? What about SIMPLICITY"
Naval gazing gazelles.
Yes. Gazelles have bellybuttons.
We realized (Ok. I realized.) that I wanted to be out farther....where it was quieter. Where there were trees and birds and long driveways and trails. After finding the PERFECT lot and finding a not-so-perfect builder (more on that in a bit).....we finally got going on building our house. Is it a "perfect" house? NO. No house is perfect.
Is it a lovely home that I am beyond lucky to get to live in?
Which brings us to the obvious questions of COST.
I know I'm always dying to know what things really cost.....but with it being a bit rude to go around asking that of people I typically sit with my curiosity unsatisfied.
So, I'm gonna be totally transparent here in a series of blogs about building a home with budget in mind.
We'll go over planning. Choosing vendors. What are GOOD "upgrades" vs wastes of money. How they "get cha"....you know, that sort of thing.
I am. by NO MEANS, an expert on construction. But, over the last year I've learned a ton about home building and I am going to do my best to lead you through how we did it while still keeping with our frugal nature.
So, stay tuned here and to the Facebook page for the next week or so as I, step by step, dive into building a brand new home with Pudgy Gazelle.
Some of the articles will include links to some of the products we have used and loved. Maybe some we got and didn't love. Some will be affiliate links or sponsored, just as a heads up. I will only ever recommend something I've used and feel comfortable recommending.
